It's more of a teaser than a trailer, but it's still interesting to look at. I'm a big Mortal Kombat fan, so I can't wait to see more.

I think Nintendo likes to play tricks on die-hard fans.
Two weeks back, Nintendo unleashed (which is a way cooler word than revealed) the release dates for quite a few of their big-name games including Metroid, Kirby, Final Fantasy, and Donkey Kong Country. Do you feel an empty spot somewhere deep inside? No, it isn�t the yearning for a spouse, it�s the missing release date for Golden Sun! Golden Sun fans all over the world started to cry, speculators speculated, and 3DS fans began to hope. The common theories about the missing release date were; Golden Sun is never coming out; Golden Sun will be released in 2011; What the heck is Golden Sun?; and, Golden Sun will be made for the 3DS.
Well, all you pessimists and wishful thinkers, you were all wrong! Nintendo announced yesterday morning that Golden Sun: Dark Dawn will be released this year, on November 29th, for the current DS systems.

If you have no idea what Golden Sun is, please view the summary below!
Golden Sun is an RPG originally created by Camelot for the Gameboy Advance. It is about 4 teenagers out to save their world, called Weyard, from being destroyed by Alchemy, a power long sealed away by sages that have nothing to do with the story other than their role of sealing Alchemy. Even though the protagonists seem to be oblivious to this, their magical powers, that are used to fight enemies and solve puzzles, are fueled by Alchemy. This power is cleverly named �psynergy� as to confuse readers of its pronunciation. At any rate, the game proved to be awesome enough to make a sequel named �Golden Sun: The Lost Age�. This game tweaks the view of the first by switching the player to be the antagonist of the first game.
After seven years , Golden Sun returns on the DS with the subtitle: Dark Dawn. This one is about the player driving away strange figures called �Psynergy Vortexes� that suck the psynergy out of everything around it.

Retro Gaming

Anyone else here a fan of older systems like the NES, Genesis/MegaDrive, or the SNES? I've been spending a lot of time in the last year assembling my retro SD gaming setup. My wife and I were back at my Father's home in Canada and we rounded up all my systems from when I was a kid. NES, Atari 2600, Genesis, Saturn, N64 and so on are all connected to my recently acquired 27" Sony Trinitron SDTV. In my opinion, Sony's Trinitron line of TVs always look the best for SD gaming. Nice, clear picture, and a wonderful screen design. Just this week, I managed to score a brand new set of SEGA brand wireless controllers for my Genesis amazingly. 15+ years old and brand new. I love eBay for things like that. So anyone else here an SD gamer like me?

Maplestory?!?

What do you guys think of Maplestory? is it good? is it bad? is it cool? is it a waste of time (and money)? I Personally think the game is boring (no offense to maplestory fans).

Toru Iwatani's Original Pac-Man Drawings

How cool is this? The original Pac-Man sketches. The guy holding them up is the creator of Pac-Man, Toru Iwatani. Embarrassingly enough, I had always thought that Pac-Man was created here in America. But I guess not.

Anyways...I thought this was pretty cool, and that you all would enjoy seeing them. Pac-Man: simple concept, amazing game.

Hi all, I�m doing Honours psychology this year and as part of my assessment I have to do research for a thesis. Naturally I�ve chosen video games as my field of study and I need as many gamers as I can get to participate in my questionnaire (below).

Most of the information concerning what it�s about should be on the first page of the link, but for interest�s sake I�m seeing whether there�s any sort of commonality in personality between gamers and the wider population, as well as between problematic gamers and pathological gamblers. I�m also indirectly addressing the question of whether or not high levels of gaming is associated with a desensitisation to violence at the personality level. It�ll be nice to shatter (or confirm) a few stereotypes associated with gaming and gamers � you�d be amazed at how ignorant the professional, scientific community can be.

Long story short � I need you to participate in my survey. I apologise in that I'm not sure how to create links on this site, but it can be found at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DG2BQ8V.

It has ethics approval and shouldn�t take any longer than 15-20 mins. Participation is anonymous and no-one will be able to trace your responses to you. You do need to be at least 15 to participate, but there�s a chance (small, but I�m hopeful) that the results might be published in a scientific journal.
