I'm starting a new contest. Today, I'm offering one the best prizes that I've ever offered in my entire history as a forum owner. For this contest, the prize will be....wait for it....wait for it....a FREE PSP Go. Yes, that's right! I'm going to give away Sony's new, soon to be released portable system, the PSP Go (when it's released, of course), to the winner of this contest. Here's how the contest works: On the day of the PSP Go launch, I will put all of the participants' names in a hat, and whoever's name I draw will win the FREE PSP Go, and it will be shipped to them free of charge. But the question is: How do you become a participant?

Here are the conditions for entering the contest:

In order to be in the drawing, you need to have at least 30 posts in the forum. That's it. You simply need to have an account here and be an active member, with at least 30 (quality, not spam) posts under your belt. (Click here to register an account!) If you meet that requirement and want to participate in the contest, POST HERE. To make things a bit more interesting, I'm giving you guys the ability to increase your chances of winning. How can you do that? There are a few different ways.

Those are:

1. Referring members to forums.p8i.com. For every 5 members you refer and get to join, I will put an extra name for you in the hat. There is no limit to the amount of members you can refer. So, for example, if you referred 100 people to the forum, you'd have 20 different names in the hat, compared to the one you'd have by default. The more names you have in the hat, the more likely it is that your name will be chosen to win the free PSP Go. But just like with the other P8I Contest (which is still running, by the way), the members that you refer HAVE to be new, unique members. I'd hate to see people cheating the system, because if that ever happened, I won't be able to offer these kinds of prizes anymore. By the way, when you refer a new member, "you must have them post in our introduction thread, telling us who they are and the name of the member that referred them to forums.p8i.com." Also, any members that you have gotten for other P8I Contests will not count here. You have to choose which one you want to put them towards and stick with it.

2. Another way you can increase your chance of winning is by staying active, and more importantly, creating quality posts. When it's time to do the drawing, I will select one member from the list of participants who I think has shown exemplary behavior and has overall been a good example to other members in the community. That person will get one extra name in the hat.

3. The final way to improve your chances of winning is to post a link to forums.p8i.com in your signature, at a minimum of 10 different forums you visit, using the phrase "Video Game Forums" as anchor text. I will add one extra name for you in the hat for that. You can do more than 10 if you want, but you will not receive any additional names.

This contest is for real. It is not a joke. The winner will have to send me their address through email or private message and I'll send your item right away.

Note: If you simply sign up to this forum for the contest and do not actually consistently contribute to the forum, do not expect to be included in the drawing, even if you are listed as a participant. I'm giving away a high-end portable system, totally free of charge - so the least you could do is participate in the forum and help us grow. This community has great potential.

Cool. And yeah, just post at the speed you normally would. Take your time. There's no need to rush/spam (not implying you are or will). We have awhile to wait for the PSP Go to be released.

Do you plan on doing anything to get some extra names in hat? If you do either one of the things that I mentioned you could increase your chances of winning -- referring people to forums.p8i.com, making helpful, quality posts, and/or adding our link to 10 different forums you visit -- you'd basically be guaranteeing yourself a free PSP Go.

Pop me in thar for the competion please, i've managed to just reach the number of posts needed lol. As for inviting a peeps to the site. With me setting up the new website and all it'd be silly for me to ask the people over there to join this forum, once the sites up though hopefully adding you to our blog roll will help out.
